About Jen Lewis

I describe myself as an intellectual mystic--I'm neither of those exclusively, but a unique pairing of both. My path to becoming an acupuncturist was not a straight one. My first career was as a lawyer. I was led to acupuncture when my reality was rocked by several back-to-back growth opportunities shortly after the birth of my second child. I found myself unexpectedly tasked with addressing repressed memories of childhood trauma, grieving miscarriages and the premature death of my sister years earlier, and realizing that I was gay. It was while I was going through the divorce process that followed this whirlwind of life unfoldings that I was introduced to acupuncture, and I quickly came to understand not only that I was going to become an acupuncturist, but also that I already had a knowledge of the art of acupuncture within me. Acupuncture, along with other holistic therapies, served as a grounding force for me during a time when I had lost my footing and direction. It also helped me to reconnect to my inner knowing and sense of purpose, supporting me in remaining open to the transformative process I was going through. On a more practical level, acupuncture helped with the accompanying anxiety, digestive disturbances, hormonal fluctuations, and insomnia I was experiencing. I consider it an honor and my life's work to pay forward to others the healing I received during my own time of need.

I'm a licensed acupuncturist with the MN Board of Medical Practice, and am board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). I graduated summa cum laude with a master's degree in acupuncture from Northwestern Health Sciences University. I use my acupuncture training and nutritional knowledge, together with my intuition and training in craniosacral therapy, dynamic body balancing, and qigong healing, to support patients on their road to healing, whether the issue being addressed is physical, emotional, or spiritual. I specialize in women's oncology care, having completed additional coursework from the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in the Fundamentals of Oncology Acupuncture. I also specialize in supporting women during life transitions, including divorce, death of a loved one, resolution of trauma, and the coming out process for those in the LGBTQ community.

In my free time, I enjoy playing piano and flute, beating my kids at ping pong, learning the ukulele with my partner, taking walks with my dog, volunteering for social justice causes, and continuing to expand my holistic health knowledge, particularly on the topic of nutrition.
